NB were looking to bounce back after two defeats and they did exactly that with a good win away to Murrayfield that makes it 9 wins so far this season , regaining fourth spot in national League. NB looked more like themselves this week with a solid and cohesive performance by the pack and some good line breaks from the backs. NB ran in 5 tries and linkages and patterns worked well fro no 1 to No 15.

NB applied pressure from the start with good carries from Dove, Allan, Chapman and Lorimer but lacked the composure to finish off some good moves, the final pass just going astray. However, the pressure did result in a penalty on the 10 meter line on 10 mins and Alex Williams stepped up to slot the 3 points and settle any early nerves. The try breakthrough came on 19 mins when the pack combined well to gain ground, kept the momentum going with a quick tap and Kristian Thompson drove, tipped the ball to Lorimer who repeated the play and Graig Allan crashed over for a well deserved try. Williams converted and it was 0-10 to NB. tThe Nb line out functioned well all day with Boswell and Chapman dominating in the catch and disrupting the Murrayfield ball throughout. A take on the half way line saw Iain Dove drive and make excellent ground with strong support, good ball recycling and handling resulted in Chapman taking the tip on an inside line and barrelling over for try number 2. on 26 mins. (0-15). Murrayfield responded well and applied a similar close range drive approach that saw them take a line out in the NB 22 and go over for a try after 3 follow up phases open up a gap. Half time score 7-15. The second half started in a similar fashion to the first with early pressure and good ball retention resulted in Murrayfield infringements with Williams taking the 3 points on 45 mins to extend the NB lead 7-18. A NB try followed on 50 mins when from a scrum on the 10 meter line Milan Stewart hit a switch line that broke the Murrayfield back line and from the recycled ball Toby Arnold took the outside pass to go over to make the score 7-23. Scores followed on 75 and 86mins as NB found more gaps , ran hard and added pace Nathan Teague , who was busy all day making yards and then Alex Williams both finished off the scoring. NB will be pleased to get back to winning ways and looking for a repeat performance in teh remaining 3 league games. Despite in being a 6 nations weekend, they travel to Garnock next week to test that against the league leaders
