A young squad, containing four schoolboys won the Plate at Broughton yesterday. Having narrowly lost their opening ties to Portobello by four tries to three, they then went on to beat teh hosts and Dalkeith and end up in second place in their pool.

This put them in to the Plate final where they beeat an invitation side called the "Gumboots".

This was an excellent afternoon's work from a young side. They travelled to Broughton with only eight players after one player decided not to show up.
